Prairie graduated from the University of Montana in 2010 with a B.A. in Ecology. During her time with UM, she spent several semesters traveling abroad to study ecology in the tropics and sea turtle conservation efforts in Mexico.

She works as a field technician for the botany crew in addition to supervising seed collection on the Ranch for restoration and research purposes. She is also working with seed increase plots to augment wild collections. She also provides assistance in on the ground restoration efforts such as eradicating invasive species, preventing soil erosion, collecting data for other researchers, and many other tasks on the ranch. In addition to working at MPG, Prairie enjoys traveling, dancing, biking, and playing the mbira.
